The computer should prove more energy-efficient, faster and lighter than current hard-drive-based models. The computer would have 32-gigabyte flash memory, and will soon move to 64 gigabytes. Unlike hard drives, which store data on spinning disks, flash memory has no moving parts. Currently, flash memory is mainly used in digital cameras and MP3 music players.
